ENERGY STAR

ENERGY STAR homes must comply with design and construction guidelines established by the EPA, which typically result in a 15-30% increase in energy efficiency compared to conventional homes. Homes earn the ENERGY STAR label through a combination of measures including:

  • Effective insulation 
  • High performance windows 
  • Tight construction and ducts 
  • Efficient heating and cooling equipment 
  • ENERGY STAR qualified appliances and lighting   

ENERGY STAR homes are tested and verified by an independent Energy Rater to ensure that the program's energy efficiency standards have been met.
